Battle of the Paddle – California

Just back from The Battle of the Paddle in Dana Point.
What an AWESOME event.
Delmer and I went down again and we both entered the Open course race on Saturday and the 10 mile distance race on Sunday.
The weather was a little cloudy and cool in the mornings – which made for great paddling – and then burned off and got warm by the afternoon.
Huge numbers of competitors, huge numbers of spectators and huge numbers of vendors and board companies.
I have said it before – if you are “into” SUP – this is THE event to attend.

Delmer out for a practice paddle on Friday.
Warm water and nearby Wahoo's Fish Tacos make me smile!
Quickblade taking the "large paddle" to the next level.

New SB Widepoints.
Starboard BOP race board prototype by Brian Szymanski
Still a Brian Szymanski proto - but much, much closer to production of the Starboard ACE PRO
Connor Baxter won BOP on one of these. Yup - it's fast!
Start of the Elite final.
