Every year since 1989 I have been going to the Snow sports Industry of America (SIA) Trade Show to look at next seasons snowboard gear.
The show used to be in Las Vegas up until 2010, and is now in Denver.
This year I decided to take a bunch of photos and let you all have an insider look at what goes on at the show.
First stop was the Burton booth. The Mountain was the center point of their booth with beverages being served daily. Some of the Burton Restricted product for 2014. We are the largest dealer of Restricted gear in western Canada. At the Vans booth – the president of the company, Steve Van Doren (on right), was making waffles on a stick for everyone each morning. On the first night of the show I take all of the sales reps, credit managers, owners, etc. of all the companies I buy stuff from out for dinner. This was the 6th Annual Easy Rider SIA Dinner – with about 40 people attending. I am giving out some awards here.A tiny look at the Mervin booth. They make Lib Tech, Gnu, Roxy boards and also Lib Tech Skateboards and Surfboards (coming soon exclusively to Easy Rider)This is the “prize board” that Lib Tech made for the upcoming Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom.I managed to get a half hour private meeting with Jake Burton Carpenter to discuss the future of snowboarding. Highlight of the decade for me!Grassroots Powder Surfers – powder snowboarding without bindings. Coming soon to Easy Rider.
