Sturgeon River Trek

Delmer and I went on a little trek this past Sunday morning.
We started in downtown St. Albert and headed north / east on the Sturgeon River.
A little over 4 hours and 26.5 km later we arrived at the bridge at Highway 37.
It was an AWESOME paddle – we saw a ton of wildlife and with the river being so twisty (it’s only 10 km in a straight line) we never knew what was around the next corner.
It was a super easy paddle – and was more than deep enough through out.
If you are going – I would go soon as the river will begin to drop quickly.
Stand Up Paddling = Where ever there is water!

Some gear / water / food and we were ready to go.
Down town St. Albert
Nice way to look at houses.
Morning Glass.
Different style of buildings!
New “Log” model of SUP
Would love to know the story behind this old car.
There are some big banks along the river.
Train bridge to navigate through.
Pick up point.
26.5km following the river – 10 km in a straight line.
